Records when others melt.
Standard dash cams fail at 60°C. iRoad models are built with supercapacitors to withstand 70°C+ inside your parked car.
Why typical dash cams fail in Adelaide summers.
| Feature | Cheap Lithium Battery | iRoad Supercapacitor |
|---|---|---|
| Max Temp | ~60°C (Unsafe) | 90°C (stable) |
| Heat Risk | Swelling / Explosion | None. Fire Safe. |
| Lifespan | 1-2 Years | 10+ Years |
Standard lithium batteries swell and leak in 70°C cabin heat. iRoad's supercapacitors store energy electrostatically, making them chemically stable and fire-safe.
Smart sensors constantly monitor internal temperature. If it reaches critical levels, the camera enters a safe shutdown mode to preserve your SD card data.
Plastic lenses warp and blur in the heat. We use premium multi-layer glass lenses that maintain focus and clarity regardless of the temperature.
No. We don't use suction cups which fail in heat. We install iRoad cameras using High-Bond VHB 3M Tape, which cures to the glass and withstands extreme temperature fluctuations.
Yes. However, if the internal unit temperature exceeds safe limits (approx 75°C), the safety mechanism will turn it off to save the memory card. It will restart automatically once cooled.
There is no internal battery to fail! The supercapacitor handles the final file save when you turn off the car, ensuring no data corruption.
